Journey #10: Lesson 5 (21st of October 2020)

Today, I’ve learned that sometimes we were got influences by the people around us. I’ve remembered that Mr. Mariano even make my name us an example. As an example is when a girl grew up around her older brothers, the girl might grow up with a boyishly character. I am a living proof since I grew up with my cousins which is all boys and they’re all older than me, that’s why I am more comfortable around boys than girls.

Mr. Mariano also reminded us to finish all our requirements and portfolio.

Journey #9: 12th of October 2020

Today, we were informed by Mr. Mariano that he will post exactly four quizzes on October 13. Also, he reminded us to complete all requirements and activities that he posted in our google classroom.

Journey #8: Lesson 4 (7th of October 2020)

Today, Mr. Mariano taught us about how a child's social behavior, character and attitude develops. Some of our topic are not new to me since we already discussed about it when we were in first year. Though the name Erik Erikson and B.F. Skinner is kind of new to me. I've learned a lot with our topic and it enlightened me somehow.

Journey #7: Activity 3 ( 30th of September 2020)

This activity makes me realize and understand myself more. I've completely understand the complexity of defining and differentiating gender.

Journey #6: Lesson 3 ( 30th of September 2020)

Well, today although I'm kind of familiar with our topic since we already discussed about it last year. Mr. Mariano talked us about the meaning and nature of gender, sex and sexuality. However, the term 'hermaphroditism' is new to me though I'm already aware of its definition before I'm not sure if I've read it in some articles before.

Journey #5: Activity 2 (22nd of September 2020)

Our development is affected due of the fact that as an individual we adopt ideas, culture, tradition and knowledge from the society. Since, what we’ve learned from them might affect ones behavior, thought or way of thinking, which is definitely wrong. The more we try to fit-in in our society the more it affects the gender and development. This is actually the naked truth that I include in the essay that I wrote. At this point of time, there is still some of country that treated women like an object which they sell to other country as wives like Nepal.

Journey #4: Lesson 2 ( 21st of September 2020)

Today, Mr. Mariano tackled Nature, Origin and Types of Society. I learned that individual is considered to be the basic component of the society. I've remembered that there are six types of society. The hunter-gatherer are non-hierarchical and nomadic, all of them are relying on surroundings for survival while pastoral are also nomadic although their primary means of subsistence are domesticated livestock. Next is horticulture which is the subdivision of agriculture that deals with gardening of plants they started constructing materials and technology to sustain their resources and for settlements while agriculture deals with cultivation of crops and also animal farming they rely on the permanent tools for survival. Lastly, feudal in which strict hierarchical system of power based on their ownership is created. It is more likely a typical social and a political system while post-industrial is considered to be the steam engine of information societies, you need knowledge since it is the basis for invention and innovation.

Journey #3: Activity 1 (18th of September 2020)

While sketching this poster I've realized about how ones gender affect the society well not in a good way. I can say that until now and in every country there will always be discrimination towards ones gender. In spite of the fact that some country already accepted the third gender whole-heartedly and maybe with open arms, no exaggeration meant. Furthermore, I've learned that both gender must be treated equally in all aspects whether in workplace, house, school, economic and social. Thus, ones gender must not be our basis for them to be discriminated.

Journey #2: Lesson 1(16th of September 2020)

Today, Mr. Mariano discussed about GAD. I've learned that GAD isn't for women only because 'men' are also a gender. Also, all gender's are struggling because inequality and discrimination. Thus, the conclusion is that the main problem here is the 'stereotyping' which made/set by the society.
